Job summary

CSA Group in Irvine, CA seeks a Fuel Systems Technical Specialist to drive growth in large-scale fuel-fired equipment and combustion systems. You will work with clients, manufacturers, and CSA Group teams to develop new service offerings, lead field evaluations, and expand into hydrogen and alternative fuels.

This role requires a mechanical/energy engineering background, strong communication, and the ability to manage complex projects across diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related technical discipline, and/or six or more years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with commercial or industrial fuel-fired equipment and combustion systems, preferably large-scale installations.
• Knowledge of safety codes and standards (CSA, ANSI, ASME, NFPA).
• Experience in TIC industry or field evaluations is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to engage stakeholders across technical and nontechnical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Market and business development to expand fuel systems services for major capital projects and large-scale installations.
• Development and enhancement of technical service offerings related to fuel-fired equipment and infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment design, installation, operation, and safety requirements.
• Research regulatory requirements, safety standards, testing protocols, and emerging technologies.
• Prepare technical scopes, estimate resources and labor, and support project quotations and timelines.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure quality and safety in field evaluations and inspections.
• Forecast resource and competency needs based on market growth and new technologies.
• Represent CSA Group at industry events, technical committees, and trade shows.
• Travel approximately 10% for client meetings, project visits, and events.
