Job summary

CSA Group Testing & Certification Inc. is seeking a Fuel Systems Technical Specialist to grow our field services for large commercial and industrial fuel-fired installations.

You will act as a subject matter expert on combustion, advise clients, and help expand offerings in hydrogen and alternative fuels. The role combines technical expertise with business development, collaborating with clients, manufacturers, and CSA Group teams to identify opportunities, develop services, and lead field

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field, or 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with commercial or industrial fuel-fired equipment and large-scale installations.
• Knowledge of safety codes and standards (CSA, ANSI, ASME, NFPA).
• Experience with hydrogen or alternative fuels is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to expand fuel systems field services for large commercial/industrial projects.
• Develop and expand technical service offerings related to fuel-fired equipment and infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment design, installation, operation, and safety requirements.
• Research regulatory requirements, safety codes, and emerging technologies in combustion and fuel systems.
• Prepare technical scopes, estimate resources, and support quotations and timelines.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure quality and safety in field evaluations and inspections.
• Forecast resource needs based on market growth and emerging tech.
• Represent CSA Group at industry events and engage with manufacturers and engineers.
• Travel ~10% for client meetings, projects, and events.
