Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Identity) to own user-facing login and signup experiences, OAuth, and security surfaces for Coinbase customers. You will lead end-to-end delivery, shape the Native vs. Webview approach, and mentor engineers as the team scales.

You will collaborate across teams to reduce latency, improve reliability, and ensure a strong customer experience while meeting regulatory requirements and security standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production frontend engineering experience with React and TypeScript.
• Authored and driven technical design documents through cross-functional review on major initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve systemic technical debt across a team’s codebase.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading team rituals (on-call rotations, code reviews, incident response).
• Uses generative AI responsibly, with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end frontend projects from design through deployment and monitoring for login, signup, OAuth, account security, and multi-user/multi-organization support.
• Author and review technical design documents, breaking down ambiguous initiatives into executable plans.
• Drive Identity's Native vs. Webview architecture strategy for authentication surfaces.
• Identify and resolve technical debt and code quality issues across the team's codebase.
• Lead team rituals including on-call, code review, and incident response, and mentor engineers.
