Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend for the Identity Platform. You will own user-facing experiences for login, signup, OAuth, and account security, helping customers access services securely.

You will lead frontend delivery, define design docs, mentor engineers, and shape the Native vs. Webview architecture, with a focus on responsible use of AI to improve workflows while maintaining human oversight.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production frontend engineering experience with React and TypeScript.
• Authored and driven technical design documents through cross-functional review and implementation on major initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve systemic technical debt with measurable improvements.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading team rituals (on-call rotations, code review standards, incident response).
• Uses generative AI responsibly, with human oversight to improve workflows, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end frontend projects from design to deployment and monitoring for authentication surfaces.
• Author and review technical design documents and break down initiatives into executable plans.
• Drive Identity's architecture strategy for frontend authentication surfaces and evaluate trade-offs.
• Identify and resolve technical debt and code quality issues across the codebase.
• Lead team rituals including on-call, code reviews, and incident response, mentoring engineers.
