Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer for Layla, our AI-native travel planning product. You will turn conversational planning into fast, accessible web interfaces, partnering with product, design, and backend teams to ship end-to-end features.

Bring 8+ years of frontend experience with JavaScript/React, strong CS fundamentals, and a passion for scalable architectures. Prior exposure to AI-enabled workflows and e-commerce travel contexts is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent related professional experience.
• 8+ years of production frontend experience.
• Deep frontend expertise in JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience building scalable web apps with maintainable frontend architecture.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products, with safe integration into web features.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable, component-based web interfaces using React/Next.js.
• Translate concepts into maintainable code, collaborating with Product, Design, and backend engineers.
• Develop fast, scalable web apps with cross-browser compatibility.
• Run experiments and iterate on traveler experiences using data.
• Safely integrate AI/ML capabilities into web features and tools.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
