Job summary

Expedia Group in Austin is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to build Layla’s web experiences, turning an AI-native travel assistant into fast, intuitive interfaces.

You will translate product concepts into maintainable code, partner with Product, Design, and backend engineers to ship features end-to-end, and drive frontend architecture decisions with a focus on accessibility and performance. You will mentor others and contribute to reusable patterns across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in production-quality software development.
• Deep frontend/web development with JavaScript, React, HTML and CSS.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable, component-based web interfaces with React/Next.js.
• Translate product concepts into maintainable code with Product, Design and backend teams.
• Develop fast, scalable web apps while ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
• Run experiments and use data to guide UI decisions.
• Safely integrate AI/ML features into web experiences; focus on responsible usage.
• Advocate for engineering excellence, usability, accessibility and quality.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and design feedback.
