Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer for Layla, our AI-native travel-planning tool. You will build fast, accessible web interfaces using React/Next.js, translating designs into high-quality code and collaborating with product, design, and backend teams.

You will push for scalable frontend architecture, run UI experiments, and help responsibly integrate AI-driven features while mentoring peers and driving engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience developing production-quality code in a professional software engineering role.
• Deep frontend/web development expertise, including JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS, and experience building reusable, component-based user interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable, component-based web interfaces with modern frontend frameworks (React / Next.js) that are fast, accessible, and maintainable.
• Translate product concepts, designs, and wireframes into high-quality, maintainable code, partnering with Product, Design, and backend engineering.
• Develop performant, scalable web applications with cross-browser compatibility and optimized performance.
• Run experiments and iterate quickly on the traveler experience using data to guide UI decisions.
• Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled capabilities in the web experience, applying AI concepts to real-world features.
• Advocate for engineering excellence, usability, accessibility, and quality; drive frontend architecture decisions and reusable patterns.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and technical design feedback.
