Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer for the Layla team to build fast, accessible web interfaces that power AI-native travel planning and booking.

You will translate designs into high-quality code, collaborate with Product, Design, and backend engineers, and drive frontend architecture improvements while mentoring peers. This role emphasizes scalable, testable frontend systems and responsible AI features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of production-quality software development experience.
• Deep frontend skills: JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, with reusable UI components.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OOP.
• Ability to build fast, scalable frontend apps with maintainable architecture.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and safe integration into web features.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable, component-based web interfaces with React/Next.js.
• Translate concepts and wireframes into high-quality, maintainable code with Product/Design/backend teams.
• Develop performant, scalable web apps with cross-browser compatibility.
• Run experiments and iterate using data to guide UI decisions.
• Safely integrate AI/ML features in the web experience with responsible use.
• Advocate for accessibility and frontend quality; contribute to architecture decisions.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and design feedback.
