Abstract is building an AI-powered platform to make government data accessible. We are hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer in NYC or Salt Lake City to architect and ship the frontend end-to-end using Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, and Prisma, with APIs and AI-driven features.

You will own component structure, state management, performance, and design system evolution, collaborating with a small team of backend and AI engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Frontend expertise with React/Next.js and Tailwind.
• Experience integrating complex APIs and data flows.
• Familiarity with AI-driven features and model-driven UI.
• Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and refine the Abstract frontend.
• Own frontend end-to-end including features, UI, and perf.
• Integrate with Python-based chat and data APIs.
• Shape design system and contribute to product decisions.
• Collaborate with backend and AI engineers; code with high quality.
