Job summary

Virtualitics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the frontend of our next-generation platform, including the shared app shell, component library, and typed API client.

You will shape APIs, auth, layout, theming, data fetching, and real-time updates, ensuring fast, accessible, and secure experiences for defense and government customers. You will work with backend, AI, and DevSecOps engineers, mentor peers, and drive design-system decisions across apps.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years building production web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Experience owning a shared component library or frontend platform.
• Strong grasp of modern React features like hooks, Suspense, and server-state libraries.
• Fluency with the build and tooling: Vite, pnpm, ESLint, and TypeScript project configuration.
• Experience shipping frontend tests (Vitest or Jest) and end-to-end testing.
• Experience building data-dense UIs (tables, charts, dashboards).
• Knowledge of browser security (CSP, cookies, XSS, CSRF).
• Clear written communication for design docs and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve shared frontend packages (app shell, library) with versioned APIs.
• Build reusable components for data-heavy government apps.
• Define frontend testing strategy and end-to-end coverage.
• Improve frontend performance and manage bundle size.
• Guide design-system direction and theming decisions.
• Ensure accessibility and classification-aware UI.
• Collaborate with backend on API shape and security posture.
• Support project teams and pull patterns back to shared packages.
• Plan migration of existing product frontend to new platform.
• Mentor engineers and raise frontend standards.
