Job summary

BigCommerce Pty. is building a new AI agents frontend team and seeks a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the unified agent frontend.

You will deliver streaming conversational experiences and a library of generative UI components, including product cards, cart views, and quote panels, rendered from agent outputs. You will collaborate with backend engineers, product and design to create intuitive experiences, mentor peers, and rapidly move proofs-of-concept to GA.

Qualifications

• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience building real-time or streaming UIs (SSE, WebSockets).
• Experience building conversational or AI-assisted UIs (chat/coplots).
• Ability to own a user-facing surface end-to-end from design to delivery.
• Experience integrating frontend with complex backend APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the unified agent frontend with real-time streaming capabilities.
• Extend a library of generative UI components rendered from agent outputs.
• Deliver merchant-facing control panels and shopper views for the agent suite.
• Own frontend architecture decisions: state management, theming, embedding strategies.
