Job summary

Ford Pro Intelligence seeks a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a team delivering connected services for fleet customers. You will guide technical direction, ensure high-quality software delivery, and foster a collaborative, innovative culture across frontend, API, and backend teams.

You will manage managers, align with product and design, and focus on scalable architectures and strong security while driving delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, Go).
• 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role managing people, leading teams, managing managers, and delivering software products to market.
• 5+ years of experience leading teams that build customer-facing, browser-based applications, with a strong understanding of UI/UX principles and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 3+ years of experience leading teams that design, build, and scale internal and external APIs, with a strong understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering managers who support software engineering teams delivering end-to-end software products for millions of drivers.
• Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and development opportunities for managers and engineers.
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Lead cross-functional scope including frontend UI/UX and API teams powering backend services.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to define requirements and priorities.
• Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues; communicate progress to stakeholders.
