Job summary

NerdWallet, Inc is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for front-end emphasis with full-stack elements. You will improve Core Web Vitals, SEO, and performance while collaborating with product and data teams to drive impactful experiments.

You’ll work on back-end APIs, ML integrations, and maintainability across a scalable, high-traffic platform. You’ll mentor peers, participate in code reviews, and help shape architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in software engineering, client-focused full stack development.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Expertise in ES6, TypeScript, Node.js and web platform; proficient in other modern languages.
• Expert in modern front-end frameworks such as Astro.js, Nuxt.js, Next.js, React.js, Tailwind.
• Deeply knowledgeable about Web Performance, Core Web Vitals & Technical SEO.
• Passion for design, usability, and user experience; accessibility best practices.
• Experience in Observability and running a production website at scale.
• Experience with databases, microservices, RESTful APIs, IAC, CI/CD and cloud infra (Vercel, AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Drive technical excellence in front-end performance and platform scalability.
• Collaborate with product, Organic Growth, and data teams to run experiments and measure impact.
• Shape initiatives to enhance performance, observability, and developer experience.
• Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and standards.
• Modify and extend back-end APIs and integrate with ML systems as needed.
• Write production-quality code and balance speed with maintainability.
