Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Sr Transportation Analyst to optimize transportation costs and ensure financial accuracy across our medical supply chain. You will manage freight invoice audit and payment processes, leveraging both third-party and in-house systems, and drive cost-saving projects in collaboration with Finance, Transportation, and Warehouse Operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in Freight Audit, Transportation and Logistics Finance, Accounts Payable, or similar role within a high-volume environment preferred.
Experience working in ERPs (SAP, Oracle), TMS platforms, or freight audit systems.
Intermediate level Excel skills – VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables.
Familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM/case management tools.
Travel Expectations: 10%

Responsibilities

Develop, document, and continuously refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for freight auditing, queue management, and invoice aging resolution, ensuring best practices and operational efficiency.
Ensure accurate freight audit is occurring in the systems and procedures are being followed to audit standards. Partner with and audit pay system owner or account manager for any logic or coding changes needed.
Ensure accurate general ledger coding and cost allocation. Proactively investigate and resolve complex billing discrepancies, balance due issues, and potential duplicate payments, collaborating with carriers and internal teams as needed.
Generate and analyze KPI reports on audit and payment activity, providing insights for process improvement and support month-end close activities.
Manage and resolve carrier invoice disputes, making informed decisions on approval or rejection based on audit findings and contractual terms and provide clear guidance on actions needed to resolve
Serve as a primary point of contact for carriers, providing clear guidance and training on proper invoicing procedures to minimize errors.
Proactively monitor and manage payment system queues, troubleshooting and resolving invoices in error status by collaborating with IT, Network Performance, Procurement, Transportation Operations, and Finance teams. Effectively manage cases within Salesforce.com.
Mentor and train team members and new hires on freight audit and payment policies, procedures, and system functionalities, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
Actively identify opportunities for process, and system enhancements, proposing and implementing solutions to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
Lead and participate in cost savings initiatives and projects, contributing directly to financial goals and optimizing transportation spend.
Monitor, and report on KPI indicators, providing actionable insights to ensure adherence to established goals and identify areas for strategic improvement.
