Job summary

KLA in Milpitas, CA seeks a senior hardware/FPGA engineer to advance high-speed electronics, PCB-to-FPGA interfaces, and data acquisition systems. You will define requirements, prototype analog/digital circuits, and drive integration across mechanical and software teams.

The role emphasizes design reviews, testing, and manufacturing-ready documentation, with a focus on signal integrity and timing closure for complex semiconductor equipment.

Qualifications

• BSEE with 3+ years, or MSEE with 2+ years or PhD EE with 1+ years' experience in electrical engineering
• Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles including analog and digital mixed signal design
• Experience with PCB design, FPGA and embedded processor development and high-speed digital hardware

Responsibilities

• Define electrical subsystem requirements, specifications, and interfaces based on system requirements and specifications
• Design/prototype analog/digital circuits, schematics capture; directing PCB board layout
• Design, implement, verify, and optimize high-speed FPGA designs, including high-bandwidth data acquisition, processing, and communication interfaces
• Develop test fixtures, test procedure and test scripts for PCB board prototype and FPGA functional tests, qualification, and characterization
• Perform circuit, signal integrity, timing, thermal, power, and FPGA simulations to validate and optimize designs
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback on PCB and FPGA designs
• Conduct bench-level, subsystem-level, and system-level integration, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
• Follow DFX Design Process and generate/maintain design documentation, test reports, and manufacturing release packages
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers for product integration and validation
