Job summary

KLA Milpitas is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (FPGA Firmware) to drive high-performance FPGA firmware design for mixed-signal systems. You will collaborate with hardware and embedded software engineers to translate concepts into robust implementations.

Responsibilities include defining specifications, building test benches, timing analysis, verification, debugging with hardware/software teams, and producing manufacturing-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on FPGA firmware experience.
• Proficient with major FPGA tools: Synplify/ISE/Vivado/Quartus.
• Familiar with FPGA simulation: VCS/Modelsim or equivalent.
• HDL knowledge: VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Understanding of timing analysis and issue resolution.
• Hands-on lab experience: logic analyzers, scopes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware and embedded software engineers to design FPGA firmware for high-performance mixed-signal systems.
• Define FPGA firmware requirement specifications and develop design projects from concept to production release.
• Design test benches for simulation, timing analysis/closure, and functionality verification; create test scripts.
• Debug the system with hardware and software engineers together.
• Write technical documentation meeting quality standards for manufacturing and service teams.
