Job summary

KLA is a global leader in semiconductor metrology equipment seeking an Electrical Engineer for Milpitas to design, develop and integrate capital tools. The role focuses on hands-on electrical design, system integration, and robust validation across prototypes and production boards.

You will own board-level design activities, contribute to FPGA-based work, collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems teams, and perform troubleshooting and hardware modifications as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate, or a Master’s with relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s with significant work.
• Experience in semiconductor capital equipment and mixed-signal PCBs.
• Strong understanding of system integration, grounding, and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Design & Development for prototype and production boards.
• Own and drive board-level design activities including power and mixed-signal interfaces.
• Contribute to FPGA-based designs and system-level debugging.
• Hands-on assembly, integration, and modification of boards for prototype tools.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, Systems, and Mechatronics teams for end-to-end integration.
• Perform rework and hardware modifications as needed.
• Prototype validation and system-level debugging in the clean room.
• Provide escalation support with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Travel to vendors for troubleshooting and hardware qualification.
