Job summary

KLA Milpitas is seeking a Sr FPGA Design Engineer to lead FPGA firmware development for high-performance sensing and communication systems. You will define requirements, implement designs, and verify timing with peers across hardware and software teams.

You will work with Xilinx or Intel/Altera devices, use Vivado and ModelSim for verification, and ensure robust documentation and testbenches are in place for production release.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS in electrical engineering or related field with related work experience.
• Hands-on FPGA firmware design experience required.
• Strong knowledge of FPGA timing analysis and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Define FPGA firmware requirements and specifications from concept to production release.
• Design, implement, and debug FPGA firmware for embedded sensing and communication systems.
• Design testbenches for simulation, perform timing analysis and closure.
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded software engineers for high-performance mixed-signal systems.
• Gather project specifications and ensure adherence to schedules.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
