Job summary

Baker Hughes Waygate Technologies in Skaneateles, NY seeks an experienced R&D Electrical Engineer specializing in Hardware & FPGA to develop and test advanced handheld remote visual inspection hardware.

You will optimize FPGA designs, develop PCB architectures with Altium, and contribute to Linux driver development for FPGA IP in a Xilinx Petalinux environment. Pleasant collaboration across HW/SW/Mech teams enables high‑quality, testable products for critical customers.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with FPGA programming in VHDL and Verilog.
• Circuit design and test experience, preferably in low-noise/high-bandwidth hardware.
• Domestic relocation to US is possible.

Responsibilities

• Optimize FPGA designs within resource and timing constraints.
• Design and develop electrical systems for high‑quality borescopes.
• Create electrical architectures and PCB designs using Altium.
• Run cross‑functional HW/SW/Mech experiments to de-risk designs.
• Execute electronic manufacturing tests to ensure quality.
• Document products and data per engineering policies.
• Collaborate in project teams, troubleshoot, validate, test, and report.
• Mentor junior engineers as appropriate.
• Support production in real‑time hardware issue resolution.
