Fairwinds Technologies, LLC is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The role focuses on programmable logic development for RF signal processing, using Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC/Versal platforms and RTL implementations in Verilog/VHDL.

You will work across hardware, DSP, RF, and embedded software to deliver complete FPGA-based solutions, including DSP blocks, high-speed interfaces, and PCB-level validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of FPGA design and development experience.
• Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Experience with RTL simulation tools and Xilinx Vivado tooling.
• Experience with Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC and Versal devices preferred.
• Experience designing FPGA for PCB-based embedded systems.
• Experience translating DSP specifications into RTL implementations.
• Strong AXI, CDC, resets, and timing constraint knowledge.
• FPGA debugging with ILA/VIO/JTAG; DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain.
• Experience with Analog Devices ADRV9009/AD9081 or TI AFE/ADC.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and verify FPGA logic with Verilog and VHDL for Zynq UltraScale+ devices.
• Develop programmable logic architectures for signal processing and high-speed data movement.
• Implement DSP algorithms into efficient FPGA fabric designs (filters, FFTs, channelizers).
• Define and implement PL–PS interfaces (AXI-Lite, AXI-Stream, DMA, interrupts).
• Integrate FPGA designs with embedded processors and heterogeneous compute architectures.
• Perform functional simulation, timing analysis, and resource optimization.
• Support FPGA bring-up and debugging on PCB hardware with lab tools.
• Develop test benches, documentation, ICDs, and SBIR deliverables.
• Support prototype-to-production transitions including ECOs and configuration management.
• Design interfaces with high-speed data converters and JESD204B/C, LVDS.
