Job summary

Fairwinds Technologies, LLC is seeking a Senior DSP Engineer with deep RF signal processing expertise and hands-on experience on Xilinx RFSoC, UltraScale+, and Versal platforms. A Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields is preferred, with a proven track record in delivering practical DSP solutions for RF systems.

This role requires creative problem-solving, collaboration across RF, FPGA, and embedded teams, and travel for field activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 15+ years of relevant DSP engineering experience delivering RF signal processing solutions.
• Proven practical experience processing RF signals beyond academia.
• Experience on embedded/real-time systems and hardware-accelerated platforms (Xilinx UltraScale+, RFSoC, Versal).
• Ability to simulate/model DSP algorithms in MATLAB/Modelsim with fixed-point design where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize DSP algorithms for RF signals in dynamic environments.
• Lead algorithm development from concept to implementation within hardware/firmware constraints.
• Implement and validate DSP on Xilinx RFSoC, UltraScale+, Versal with PL/PS resources.
• Collaborate with FPGA engineers to create hardware-realizable architectures.
• Work with embedded software engineers to integrate real-time DSP pipelines and runtimes.
• Develop test/verification strategies and characterize performance under impairments.
• Create simulation environments and correlate results with hardware/field data.
• Provide technical leadership and conduct design reviews.
