Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking an experienced firmware/ FPGA engineer to collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams on new hardware and control architectures. You will translate system requirements into hardware solutions and integrate firmware in a lab environment.

The role emphasizes FPGA design/verification, Xilinx/Altera platforms, and interfacing with PCIe and high-speed Ethernet. This is an onsite position with potential travel.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with hardware development and/or integration and a minimum of 6 yrs of experience in FPGA Logic design and verification.
• Experience in testing products using FPGA debugging tools (such as Xilinx/AMD Vivado).
• Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: PCIe &10/100 Gb Ethernet/Multi-gigabit serial standards (e.g. Aurora, RoCE, RIO).
• Experience designing with Xilinx and/or Altera FPGA/SoCs.<ul><li>Zynq, Kintex/Virtex Ultrascale and newer.</li></ul>

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary electrical engineering and hardware design team to create firmware for new hardware and controls architectures.
• Architect and implement controls solutions with SME-defined requirements and algorithms in a lab environment.
• Simulate, implement, test, and troubleshoot firmware updates; support design reviews and integrate firmware on controls systems.
• Work with systems, mechanical, and software engineers in a product development team.
• Architect solutions for new business pursuits or new design systems.
• Travel may be required for business purposes.
