Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced firmware engineer onsite in McKinney, TX to develop, test, and integrate firmware for new hardware designs. You will work with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to translate system requirements into hardware implementations.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience, FPGA design expertise, and hands-on use of Vivado, HDL coder, and Simulink. Relocation assistance is available for this onsite position.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with FPGA debugging tools and Vivado.
• Experience with PCIe, 10/100 Gb Ethernet, RoCE, RIO interfaces.
• Experience designing with Xilinx/Altera FPGA/SoCs.
• Knowledge of Zynq, Kintex/Virtex Ultrascale.
• Ability to translate system requirements into hardware baselines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to create firmware for new hardware designs.
• Architect and implement control solutions per SME requirements.
• Simulate, test, and troubleshoot firmware; integrate on controls systems.
• Work with systems, mechanical, and software engineers in a product dev team.
• Architect solutions for new business pursuits or new design systems.
