SAAZ Micro Inc. seeks a camera Firmware Engineer to design, develop, integrate and validate embedded firmware for visible, SWIR, MWIR and LWIR imaging systems. The role connects sensor hardware, FPGA logic, camera electronics and software to deliver high-performance imaging for commercial and defense domains.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in embedded systems, camera interfaces, real-time firmware and hardware bring-up, and thrives in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in camera system design or embedded hardware.
• Proven FPGA development experience with VHDL or Verilog (AMD/Xilinx or Intel/Altera toolchains).
• Experience interfacing with visible and IR image sensors; familiarity with Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement FPGA firmware for image sensor control, high-speed data acquisition, synchronization and real-time processing.
• Interface with visible and IR sensors, including ROICs and CMOS sensors.
• Design and manage high-speed interfaces (LVDS, MIPI CSI-2, Camera Link, USB 3.0, 10G Ethernet).
• Collaborate with image sensor engineers, system architects and software teams on readout sequences and data pipelines.
• Bring up new hardware in the lab and perform test/debug with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Document designs and participate in hardware validation and production support.
