Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for camera systems. You will develop low-level drivers for camera modules (MIPI CSI-2, USB, SPI, I2C) and integrate sensors, focusing on robust data pipelines and real-time performance.

Collaborate with image processing teams, implement configuration, triggering and synchronization, support data capture during ground tests and flight operations, and contribute to bring-up and debugging in hardware-in-the-loop setups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience writing C/C++ code for embedded systems, preferably in imaging or robotic applications.
• Experience using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to troubleshoot problems across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level drivers and control software for camera modules using MIPI CSI-2, USB, SPI and I2C.
• Interface with image sensors and imaging pipelines, implementing robust data handling.
• Implement camera configuration, triggering and synchronization logic.
• Support data capture and streaming during ground tests and in-flight operations.
• Collaborate with image processing and perception teams to define firmware requirements and APIs.
• Contribute to bring-up, debugging and tuning of camera subsystems in hardware-in-the-loop setups.
