Job summary

Chicago Trading Company (CTC) seeks a Senior FPGA Engineer to join our FPGA development team and deliver ultra-low-latency, high-reliability trading systems. You will architect solutions, collaborate with quants and traders, and influence design decisions across teams for real-time impact.

You should have proven FPGA experience, SystemVerilog or VHDL expertise, and proficiency in Python or C++ for testbenches and tooling. Hybrid work model in Chicago area is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience and expertise with FPGA development.
• Advanced proficiency with SystemVerilog or VHDL.
• Experience with Python and/or C++ for tools and testbenches.
• Strong understanding of computer architectures.
• Experience with modern agile design and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement an ultra-low-latency architectural vision.
• Collaborate with technology leaders to improve trading platform design.
• Understand trading workflows and performance needs with a multidisciplinary team.
• Develop an implementation roadmap with Quant and Trading for incremental performance improvements.
• Lead design implementation, participate in code reviews, and promote maintainable, scalable solutions.
