Job summary

CDM Smith Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a strategic partner to leadership, guiding financial decisions that drive growth and profitability. The role covers planning, forecasting, project financial management, and performance reporting across the business.

You will analyze revenue and margins, monitor project performance, and collaborate with Operations and Project Accounting to support billing and compliance. Advanced Excel, Power BI, and Oracle ERP are used daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, project accounting, or related financial role.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis experience.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and project financial management.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience partnering with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise; strong Office skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with financial reporting, KPI development, and performance analysis.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Proficiency with Oracle ERP or other enterprise financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights, forecasting, and recommendations.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning.
• Analyze revenue, profitability, project margins, and key metrics.
• Monitor project financial performance, identify risks and opportunities.
• Support revenue recognition, contract review, client billing, and compliance.
• Develop executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and management presentations.
• Support controls, process improvements, and efficiency efforts.
• Leverage enterprise systems to enhance reporting and decision-making.
