Job summary

Forward Air Corporation in Coppell, TX is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis to own consolidation of forecasting and planning, lead monthly performance recaps, and translate complex data into actionable insights for Finance and the Executive team.

The role drives the consolidated P&L, oversees forecasting, budgeting, MBRs, and board reporting, partnering with segment finance and Accounting. On-site work is required in a freight/logistics setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required; MBA preferred.
• 4+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical finance environment.
• CPA/CFA or progress toward certification preferred.
• Experience with multi-entity transportation, logistics, or distribution is a plus.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the consolidated monthly forecasting process and annual budget cycle.
• Develop driver-based financial models linking volume, yield, costs to results.
• Build scenario analyses and pro forma models for acquisitions or restructurings.
• Coordinate planning across segments and align forecast assumptions.
• Deliver monthly variance analyses with concise commentary on drivers.
• Prepare consolidated MBR and Board reporting materials with EBITDA bridges and KPI dashboards.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, and operational leaders across Ground, Air, Ocean, and Contract Logistics.
• Lead ad hoc analyses on pricing, fuel surcharges, cost allocation, SG&A, capex, and working capital.
• Translate market data into planning assumptions and support monthly close with variance investigation.
• Serve as power user for Anaplan and related planning/data tools; design automated reports.
• Present results to senior leadership in concise, executive-ready format.
