Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for Ground operations, leading a finance team and partnering with Ground leadership to drive performance. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, and analytics, with migration from spreadsheet workflows to scalable data platforms such as Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.

The position requires seven+ years in FP&A with leadership, strong modeling skills, and experience building driver-based models and KPI

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive FP&A and leadership experience.
• Experience building models beyond Excel using SQL, Python, BI tools.
• Experience with Databricks and data platforms preferred.
• Strong strategic finance partnering with executives.
• Knowledge of transportation, logistics, or LTL industry preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead FP&A for Ground product including budgets and long-range planning.
• Partner with Ground leadership to drive performance and provide actionable insights.
• Develop driver-based financial models for volumes, costs, and revenue.
• Migrate planning/reporting to enterprise platforms with Analytics team (Databricks, Fabric).
• Automate monthly reporting to increase time for value-added analysis.
• Present financial results, forecasts, and insights to executive leadership.
• Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior results.
• Provide financial analysis for pricing, network optimization, and capex opportunities.
• Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards for Ground operations.
• Lead and coach Ground FP&A team.
• Support internal controls and reporting standards.
