Job summary

Forward Air Corp. seeks a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for the Ground business to lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis across LTL, TLS, DFF, and pool distribution.

You will own Ground planning models and monthly reporting, partnering with BI and Pricing to modernize workflows. This role emphasizes building scalable data-driven solutions, migrating from spreadsheets to governed platforms (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric), and presenting results to executive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field; MBA preferred.
• Seven (7)+ years of progressive FP&A experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience building financial models, forecasts, and reporting solutions beyond Excel using SQL, Python, R, BI platforms, or FP&A tools.
• Preferred experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, Python; collaboration with data teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for Ground product.
• Partner with business unit leaders to develop plans and monitor performance against targets.
• Develop and maintain driver-based financial models (volume, revenue per shipment, costs).
• Advance migration from spreadsheets to governed enterprise platforms (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric).
• Automate monthly financial reporting to enable higher-value analysis.
• Present monthly/quarterly/annual results to executive leadership and provide insights.
