Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis across the portfolio. You will develop annual operating budgets, multi-year plans, and executive-level analyses to support informed decision-making and resource allocation.

Success requires partnering with senior leaders, University Budget Office, Financial Services, and national laboratory activities while maintaining strong internal controls and audit

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of work experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, or related financial planning role.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• CPA/CMA/CFA or other certification listed as not required in posting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, coordination, and analysis of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year plans.
• Own monthly/quarterly financial reporting, variance analysis, and trend analysis.
• Develop financial models and business cases to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Prepare executive-level analyses and dashboards for senior leadership review.
• Advise leaders on budget development, spending plans, and funding strategies.
• Ensure financial controls, audit readiness, and compliance with university policies and GAAP.
