The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a Department Financial Planning & Analysis Lead to serve as the department's primary fiscal advisor and strategic partner to REDD leadership in Laurel, MD. This role shapes financial strategy, oversees budgets, and presents analyses to executives.

You will drive QFRs, the LRP, and annual budgeting while coordinating with cross-functional teams to forecast staffing, expenditures, and priorities. A Secret clearance is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, financial planning, business operations, or fiscal analysis.
• Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience preparing and presenting financial analyses to senior leadership.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, Power Query, and data analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build partnerships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as REDD's primary fiscal representative and trusted advisor to Department leadership across overhead, capital, discretionary, and direct activities.
• Lead annual financial planning processes, including QFRs and LRP, reflecting staffing forecasts and strategic priorities.
• Own development of REDD's annual budget with funding priorities and resource allocation.
• Present executive-level financial briefings and analyses to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with REDD analysts and branch leadership to validate hiring plans and monitor financial performance.
• Create monthly and ad hoc financial reports and dashboards from multiple data sources.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities; propose mitigation strategies.
• Support long-term capital planning and project financial forecasting with capital partners.
• Assist audits and data requests ensuring data integrity and traceability.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve data analytics.
