Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking a Project Control/Financial Manager for the Space Exploration Sector in Laurel, MD. You will monitor program finances, analyze costs, and prepare monthly reports and cost proposals in coordination with program managers and sponsors.

Responsibilities include using Oracle Financial System with Excel, supporting procurement and planning, and presenting financial data for senior management and government sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field, and at least four years of relevant experience.
• Experience analyzing financial data and preparing stakeholder reports.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills for decision-making.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze the financial status of programs with Program Managers and sponsor representatives.
• Provide cost analysis of actual and projected costs using Oracle and Excel.
• Support project leads and provide ad-hoc reporting for sponsor briefings.
• Prepare monthly financial reports per the contract.
• Prepare cost proposals for sector initiatives.
• Assist Program Managers with solicitation interpretation and planning activities.
• Cost estimating and final proposal submission activities for compliant proposals.
• Coordinate with procurement to gather basis of estimate information for cost estimates.
• Support program administrative functions, including presentations and sponsor inquiries.
• Assist SOM Management during Laboratory program reviews with senior and sponsor interactions.
