Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Department Financial Planning & Analysis Lead in the REDD Department to shape financial strategy and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. You will partner with department leadership to ensure fiscal stewardship across overhead, capital, and discretionary activities.

You will develop annual budgets, perform financial analyses, and present executive-level briefings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, budgeting, planning, operations, or portfolio management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial info and make recommendations.
• Experience developing, managing budgets, forecasts, or investment plans with leadership.
• Executive-level communication skills to present concise financial analyses to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the department's lead financial advisor to REDD leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead annual financial planning processes, QFRs, and Long-Range Plan.
• Lead development of the department's annual budget and funding prioritization.
• Present executive financial briefings and analyses to senior leadership.
• Partner with analysts and managers to validate hiring plans and resource allocations.
