Ursa Major seeks a Senior Director of Finance to serve as the lead business unit finance partner, building an elite FP&A organization across defense and space programs.

Reporting to the President, this role will own all financial cadence, guide program economics, long-range capacity planning, and contract pricing strategy with deep experience in government contracting and aerospace finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related quantitative field.
• 15+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership in program finance and FP&A in Aerospace/Defense/Space hardware environments.
• Mastery of program economics, government/commercial aerospace contracting, CAS, FAR, EAC/ETC methodologies.
• Executive presence with C-suite interaction and strategic clarity in high-velocity environments.
• Experience with defense/manufacturing ERPs and BI tools (Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Anaplan, Power BI, Excel).
• Leadership experience scaling finance teams and coaching managers.

Responsabilités

• Act as the direct financial copilot to the President, translating milestones into financial targets and risks.
• Lead program finance across product lines, manage P&Ls, bookings, backlog, revenue recognition, margins, cash.
• Direct EAC/ETC cadence across major development and production programs.
• Implement and monitor EVM frameworks with CPI/SPI alignment.
• Lead multi-year planning, capex forecasting, budgets, and scenario modeling.
• Collaborate on proposals, pricing, cost volumes, and contract negotiations.
• Modernize reporting infrastructure using Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Anaplan, and Power BI.
• Mentor and scale a high-performing program finance team.
• Ensure governance, GAAP/FAR/CAS compliance, and data integrity across forecasts.
