Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for Legal Operations to own the department's budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. You will partner with Legal leadership and Finance to optimize spend, analyze financial performance, and influence strategic investments.

The role blends financial rigor with business partnership in a high‑visibility corporate function. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in FP&A or corporate finance, strong modeling skills, and a proven ability to communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
• 5+ years FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or related field.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, reporting, accrual management, and variance analysis.
• Experience developing financial models and translating data into insights.
• Experience presenting to finance and non‑finance audiences.
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with ERP and planning systems; data visualization experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget, quarterly forecasts, long‑range planning, and performance reviews.
• Partner with GC, Legal Ops and Finance to develop assumptions and analyses.
• Prepare executive‑level reports, dashboards, and recommendations.
• Oversee headcount planning, personnel cost analysis, and org changes.
• Provide data‑driven insights to support strategic decisions.
