Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Senior PIE Engineer to connect fab processes with customer applications. You will drive product introductions, evaluate wafer sort data, and build yield models to define root causes and countermeasures.

Collaboration with process, DFM, test, and customers is essential. The role requires 7+ years in product engineering, strong analytical skills (STDF/JMP/Spotfire), and experience with NPI and technology qualification.

Qualifications

• B.S / M.S in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of Product Engineering Experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving and prioritization ability.
• Strong statistics and data analysis background (JMP/Spotfire).
• Experience with new product introduction, device / environmental qualification, and yield ramp.
• Extensive experience in data mining and statistical analysis using STDF to identify yield detractors and parametric trends.
• Proficient in mapping wafer sort bin and parametric data back to fab electrical test results to build yield learning model and drive root cause identification.
• Skilled in utilizing scan diagnostics and SRAM bitmap analysis to isolate defects and effectively drive PFA to confirm failure modes.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor test methodologies with a strong ability to deconvolute Design / Fab / Test failures.
• Ability to develop, modify, or maintain automation scripts and data analysis tools using Python, C, or Java.
• New Product Introduction (NPI) & Technology Qualification: Proven track record of participating in new product introduction (NPI) and advanced semiconductor technology node bring-up and qualification phases.
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience evaluating the wafer sort test up to product launch.
• Work with customers at kick off, validate CS lots, evaluate margin of Corner wafers, and support successful qualification.

Responsibilities

• Closely collaborate with teams: Process, DFM, Test, and Customer to ensure manufacturability of Samsung’s products and rigorously analyze EDS/ET and process‑parameter data to translate wafer‑sort test results into actions to segregate EDS‑related anomalies from process related yield degradations.
• Provide comprehensive silicon analysis across the Process, Voltage, Temperature, encompassing device characterization, yield modeling, and problem‑solving while supporting failure‑analysis efforts (eFA/pFA).
• Identify trends, devise innovative mitigation strategies, and resolve complex yield and test challenges by Leveraging high‑volume production data .
• Monitor mass‑production performance, collaborate with fab engineering to root‑cause systematic issues, and drive yield to entitlement targets. Review test programs to grasp flow and identify critical change points.
