Job summary

IT Labs is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer to join a deep-tech environment, delivering production-ready applications that blend software and AI. You will work hands-on across the stack with customers, rapidly prototype solutions, and deploy in cloud-native environments.

You will collaborate with data scientists to bring advanced physics models to life, building APIs and microservices in Python and FastAPI, and operating deployments with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform,

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and production experience.
• Proficient in Python backend development, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based deployments.
• Excellent communication and ability to work directly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand engineering challenges and shape software solutions.
• Build rapid prototypes, gather user feedback, and iterate toward production-ready applications.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and microservices using Python and FastAPI.
• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate physics models in applications.
• Deploy and operate applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, AWS.
• Work with frontend engineers and platform teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Identify reusable components and contribute improvements to the core platform.
