Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal government customers, owning architecture and delivering end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will lead design decisions and work across engineering, product, and client teams to maximize value with a strong emphasis on customer empathy. This hands-on, hybrid role requires engineering excellence, adaptability, and the ability to travel 20-25% to client sites, delivering measurable

Qualifications

6+ years in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
Fluency in Python, Scala, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Deep experience with PySpark and Apache Spark; knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
CI/CD for production deployments; working knowledge of MLOps and AI models.

Responsibilities

Own architecture and design decisions for production-grade data/AI solutions for federal customers.
Lead end-to-end implementation spanning data engineering, AI, and app development.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver value.
Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and align with Databricks best practices.
