Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with federal government customers, architecting end-to-end data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own design decisions, lead delivery, and ensure secure, scalable architectures with strong customer empathy. This hands-on, hybrid role requires travel to customer locations about 20–25% of the time and delivers measurable business impact through data pipelines, ML models, and enterprise-grade deployments across

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications that combine data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.
• Experience with technical project delivery, documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across a broad stakeholder range.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects by delivering reference architectures, custom applications and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to ensure successful understanding, evaluation and adoption of Databricks.
• Lead architecture and design decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with the Databricks technical team, Project Manager, Architect and Customer team to deliver engagement components.
• Work with Engineers and Customer Support to provide product feedback and rapid issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams from individual contributors to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts.
