Job summary

Deloitte's Converge for FSI team is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Insurance Growth Suite initiative. You will sit with our strategic financial services clients, translate complex architecture into practical, production-ready solutions, and influence product direction with hands-on technical leadership.

This role blends startup energy with enterprise scale, requires 8+ years of software engineering, strong Java/Spring Boot, multi-cloud, and a proven ability to lead workshops,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with client-facing roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent; advanced degree a plus.
• Willingness to travel 20-30% on average.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for strategic client accounts, building relationships with architects and engineers.
• Lead discovery sessions to understand client architectures, pain points, and objectives.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with client architects and internal teams to design scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Provide guidance on microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud deployment patterns.
• Review client designs, identify risks, and recommend best practices.
• Prototype and deliver POCs and polished demos tailored to client tech stacks.
• Facilitate technical workshops, runbooks, and integration guides; enable client teams.
