Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in the United States to lead architecture, design, and end-to-end delivery of data, AI, and application solutions for customers. You will own deployments, integrate with client systems, train teams, and ensure measurable outcomes with strong customer empathy.

The role blends engineering with business impact, requiring adaptability, curiosity, and deep collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Experience with technical project delivery and managing scope, timelines and outcomes.
• Travel to customers 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including architecture, data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers in end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data projects.
• Mentor customers on architecture decisions to ensure secure, scalable, and best-practice deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide product and implementation feedback and enable rapid issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams and stakeholders from ICs to executives to understand challenges.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
