Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers on data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development.

Qualifications

• Strong years experience in data engineering or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JS/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps and AI/ML models.
• Ability to design and deploy performant end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope and timelines.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery, including reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide transformational big data and AI projects end-to-end with customer input.
• Own architecture decisions, ensuring secure and scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet needs.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to drive rapid issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Develop accelerators, frameworks, and best practices for scale across accounts.
