Job summary

Gradera is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for its Des Moines, IA on-site role. You will operate at the intersection of business process, solution architecture, and hands-on AI-native engineering to implement client-focused solutions.

You will navigate complex enterprise environments, rapidly understand engineering landscapes, and translate findings into working architectures and production-ready software, blending advisory with practical delivery.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience entering an unfamiliar enterprise environment.
Solution architecture and hands-on software engineering capability.
Ability to move between executive/architectural discussions and technical implementation.
Experience improving SDLC, DevEx, testing, integration and deployment practices.
Experience with enterprise clients in consulting, field engineering, or similar roles.
Ability to identify reusable patterns from client implementations.
Technical judgment on existing vs. new solutions.
Ability to operate with ambiguity in complex client environments.
Experience with Microsoft tech: Power Platform, Copilot Studio, VS Code, GitHub Copilot.
Experience with AI-native and agentic software engineering methods.
Proven understanding of APIs, data flows, and enterprise connectivity.
Experience implementing automated testing frameworks (Playwright) and CI/CD deployment automation.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps and modern software delivery practices.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Assess client engineering environments across architecture, tooling, CI/CD, deployment, data flows, and controls.
Understand client business processes to align engineering recommendations with outcomes.
Map Create/Modernize/Operate opportunities to Gradera services and patterns.
Translate findings into solution architectures, backlogs, and production plans.
Act as architect and hands-on engineer from design to deployment and testing.
Implement AI-native engineering solutions using Gradera methods with client platforms and tools.
Evaluate practices, identify risks, and propose improvements.
Build trusted relationships across stakeholders and feed patterns to Studio and products.
Identify opportunities to expand Intelligent Engineering capabilities and coordinate with delivery teams.
