Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to partner with customers, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own architecture, drive production deployments, and guide teams across engineering, product and customer success to maximize impact. The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, customer empathy, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead impactful customer technical projects delivering production‑grade systems and reference architectures.
• Guide transformational big data projects including end‑to‑end design, build and deployment of AI applications.
• Mentor customers on architecture and design; bootstrap or implement projects for successful adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to deliver components meeting customer requirements and provide product feedback.
• Immersion with customer teams from ICs to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks and best practices that scale across accounts and influence the product roadmap.
