Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Forest Science/Management or closely related field from an SAF-accredited program or comparable status.
• Two years journey level professional forest management with leadership in supporting programs (e.g., forest inventory, invasive species, road administration) OR three years entry-level with timber sale experience.
• Knowledge of forest management theory to plan activities, lead field staff, and supervise contractors.
• Knowledge of contract administration, budget handling, and program policy compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication to share complex concepts with professionals and the public.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills to work in a team and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Develop program goals and reports for silviculture activities at the regional level.
• Collect and analyze resource data and trends; monitor staff performance.
• Administer budgets, contracts, and education programs for forestry silviculture.
• Lead field staff and contractors; ensure adherence to safety and policy guidelines.
• Provide training and development for natural resource staff in silviculture practices.
• Coordinate with Division staff and stakeholders on silviculture projects and funding.
