Job summary

EY's Forensics Insurance and Federal Claims Services helps clients recover after disasters by managing grants, compliance, and insurance claims for complex public and private sector projects.

The team includes seasoned professionals such as accountants, forensic auditors, engineers, and former FEMA staff, collaborating to deliver expert disaster recovery services to states and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, law, finance, business, emergency management or related field.
• 2+ years of related compliance, audit, financial management, disaster recovery and/or emergency management experience, ideally with a government agency or professional services firm.
• Achieved, or working toward a professional designation such as CPA, CEM, or CFE
• Effective organization and time‑management skills and ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
• Reliable transportation to and from the EY office and client sites; a driver’s license is strongly recommended

Responsibilities

• Work with engagement teams to provide government and public sector clients with a variety of services associated with the management and compliance of disaster recovery funding made available through complex grant and stimulus programs (FEMA, HUD CDBG‑DR).
• Travel and presence at client sites, along with in‑office presence, will be required.
• Lead interactions with local governments to support project development and verify compliance requirements.
