Job summary

The Vertex Companies LLC is seeking a Senior Forensic Engineer to lead investigations of mechanical systems (HVAC and other MEP) for insurance claims, construction defect matters, and property condition assessments. You will manage projects, review documents, and develop remediation plans, while building a strong client following.

Ideal candidates have PE licensure, extensive experience in forensic engineering, and a proven ability to guide projects from fieldwork to written reports for senior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of related experience, or Master's with 8 years and 5+ years in management.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), with multiple states preferred.
• Proven track record of independent work product production and client coordination with supervisors.
• Strong knowledge of forensic investigations of mechanical systems; HVAC expertise is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create work product and manage projects; coordinate with team members.
• Conduct forensic field inspections on residential/commercial property damage and defect claims.
• Research failures in mechanical systems to determine cause and origin; HVAC expertise is a plus.
• Develop remediation plans including scope, schedule and budget; write expert reports.
