Job summary

The Vertex Companies, LLC is seeking a Senior Forensic Engineer to lead investigations of mechanical systems and contribute to property-damage claim projects for residential and commercial buildings.

You will conduct field inspections, develop remediation plans, author reports, and work with clients and leadership to ensure timely, quality outcomes. Strong HVAC knowledge and PE licensure are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 12+ years of related experience or Master's with 8+ years.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred across multiple states.
• Proven ability to produce independent work product and coordinate with clients and supervisors.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and codes (HVAC knowledge a plus).

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic field inspections to determine cause/origin of incidents related to property damage claims and defects.
• Research failures in mechanical systems to determine cause and origin; HVAC expertise is a plus.
• Develop remediation plans including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Author investigative reports with findings and remediation plans for senior management and clients.
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering on-time and on-budget assignments; maintain high-quality work product.
