Job summary

The University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth’s Center for Human Identification (CHI) seeks a Senior Forensic Analyst to conduct forensic DNA analysis on evidence and establish identities for legal proceedings.

The role requires a strong background in forensic science, DNA methods, and the ability to provide expert testimony, with opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to validation projects. A Texas license is required and a 8-5 schedule is typical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience.
• Knowledge of forensic science and DNA analysis.
• Experience providing expert testimony in court.
• Ability to train and guide junior analysts.
• Familiarity with QA/QC guidelines.
• Proficiency with advanced forensic tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret serological and DNA results following QA/QC guidelines.
• Generate reports of results obtained.
• Complete technical and administrative review of cases.
• Maintain proficiency by completing two proficiency tests per year.
• Provide court testimony as required.
• Assist with training of new Forensic Analysts and Technologists.
• Oversee work and provide guidance to Forensic Analysts and Technologists.
• Participate in validation projects as needed.
• Assist the Technical Leader in various responsibilities and projects as needed.
• Complete required hours of continuing education and review current scientific literature.
